Beautiful Infrared Sunday - A collection of photos walking through the forest.

in #infrared6 years ago (edited)

With autumn upon us all of the trees have grown about as much as they would during the warm months. The trails are well worn and was still pretty hot outside. Most of the wildlife was growing up and out of its young spring phase. The signs of fall were showing, with leave starting to look speckled and discolored. But we are still many months away from most of them losing their leaves.

In the above photo, I stopped along a trail to get a little around a bunch of ferns. This was my entry for the #beautifulsunday hosted by @ace108

Surrounded on both sides, ferns all over. I was loving it.

P1160659.JPG

Wild Muscadine vines, were growing all over the place. In the trees and along the trails.

The first bridge we came across, I immediately saw fish and tadpoles moving about in the water. Its a very small stream but still lots of life in it.

Ferns were growing off the sides where erosion was making the stream bigger. Slowly but surely the water works away at the sides of the dirt walls.

We continued on the trail, with hills going up and down throughout the walk.

Glad though they had many benches along the way. With interesting rocks left at some of these park structures.

Heres another painted rock we found along the trail.

Another bridge took us over another small stream. Checking out all the aquatic life as we cross it.

On our way out, we saw a great tree that has the sun coming down right on it. Made a great shot.

Oh my, so many beautiful photos. And so many ferns. I love it haha.

  1. picture looks like a "way of ferns", at least surrounded by ferns.
  2. Sea of ferns. :D

This one is amazing too. I really like this kind of photos. Kind of looks a bit magical/mystical.

The antepenultimate picture looks amazing too. So peaceful.

Nice post my friend.

@nevlu

thank you, it sure is but I hope more join me in shooting in infrared.

All the photographs are awesome friend...
Classic ir technology..

It seems like the forest is often passed by people who like adventure, so the atmosphere isn't too scary

The forest is very comfortable for refreshing

I like your pictures @solominer

@santiintan

Yep you are correct, this forest is a common running, walking and hiking trail for many people. My hunting trips I usually go deep into the forest, but on this trip it was closer to civilization.

thanks!

The infrared makes for some intriguing looking images. This one is my favorite:

@momzillanc

It sure does, yeah that one is cool as the paint on the rocks really show. Also, you can see fungus growth on the stump.

I think the ferns will still be very much green at this point of time if I'm not wrong. Glad you have a good walk.

@ace108

You are correct, mostly the large trees are shedding their leaves. The ferns usually go when the first frosts come through and turn the leaves into mush.

Thanks for hosting #beautifulsunday and congrats on over 40k posts! wow!

You're welcome and thank you.

Beautiful forest in any light. :-)

@manorvillemike
