Here in the USA popular movements and social groups are heavily infiltrated by government operatives, and corporate infiltrators.

You see examples of it in the news when you read about a suspected terrorist who was provided with fake bomb materials, where there was no chance that the items provided by the agents would result in an explosion, but the person who is unknowingly working with an operative goes out and plants the fake device in an attempt to explode people then goes to jail.

It’s not a matter of doubt. Our tax dollars are used to create fake scenarios which entrap individuals. The question is, if you are in a movement do you know how to spot people who are agents? Are you able to recognise common traits which are tells for law enforcement presence?

There are certain postures and stances which law enforcement are prone to.

They use these postures as a form of intimidation when in uniform. Police become so accustomed to some of these postures that they become subconscious. Cops carry heavy gun belts which they are used to having their hands on. You can see them in videos all over the internet casually standing with their hands on their weapons. Take the time to look at some of the videos, it’s programmed into their muscle memory.

Black Lives Matter in Oakland had an incident in December of 2015 where the secret police officer was outed. Once people began to draw attention to the fact that he was a cop he drew his weapon and began to threaten the unarmed, nonviolent citizens and reporters!

Cops are chickens!

In my opinion they “fear for their lives” more than anyone else in society. Because they are so afraid they are often armed. It is genuinely difficult to conceal a weapon from someone who is directly looking for one. If you want to figure out who the secret police are in your popular movement or social group, look for the person with a gun. Concealed holsters are often carried on the ankle; it’s bulky and pretty easy to spot on a person’s ankle. Another place where guns are commonly concealed is in the small of the back. Again, guns are bulky.

Because cops are afraid they typically wear bulletproof vests. This is especially true in big crowd situations like a march or a protest. Bulletproof vests, like guns, are bulky. If a person is trying to hide a bulletproof vest they will wear a vest over it or a hoodie. Something loose-fitting lends itself both to concealing a weapon and disguising a bulletproof vest.

The goons don’t want to accidentally arrest each other during protests,

or accidentally shoot each other, so they use identifiers by which they can distinguish each other in the crowd. In one example of this which I personally witnessed at a labor march in New York City (4:45 I point a couple out, then again 7:15) the goons all had wristbands on, the type you wear when you work out. It wasn’t subtle at all, but if you didn’t already know that you were looking at a pack of secret police the wristbands wouldn’t stand out.

There used to be a time in this country when writing a blog entry like this would clearly qualify someone as a paranoid quack.

However, that time has long since passed, at least for those of us who have been involved in supporting popular movements. Especially in the time since the Patriot Act and NDAA 2012. If you don’t understand those two events and how they have affected the law enforcement landscape then you have some reading to do.

In 2016 more than 500 Indigenous Nations from around the world gathered in North Dakota.

A group of youth rallied around the idea that their water needed to be protected from the Dakota Access Pipeline. One of the strongest allies of the native youth were indigenous women. A particularly powerful ally to the water and the youth is a woman by the name of Red Fawn. Red Fawn was arrested and allegedly framed by her lover at the time, a man who was being paid by the FBI to infiltrate the movement and gather information for future trials. He was paid by the FBI to be a witness against Red Fawn in federal court earlier this year. Red Fawn is still awaiting sentencing. She faces up to 15 years, but is expected to receive 2-4 years as a result of a negotiated agreement.

If you are involved in a popular movement or social group which has been infiltrated you can spot agents through their agenda.

Oftentimes agents use controlled opposition to hurt popular movements. A fight will break out inside the movement between two activists. It will be fierce and threaten the stability of the group. But here’s the thing, both of the people in the fight will be agents. Neither of them will be legitimately fighting, they are each working to disrupt the common unity through their aggression towards each other. It’s essentially two cops fighting with each other. Their goal, aside from stopping any progress, is to drive wedges between the citizens. They will attempt to draw people in on both sides and polarize the movement through ‘controlled opposition’.

Secret police will try to get you to break the law, or talk about illegal behavior. Their main goal is to develop evidence for use at trial. One major sign of an agent is their suggesting the breaking of laws.

They try to get you to say things which incriminate you. In developing evidence secret police will attempt to get you to agree to actions which are criminal. Whether it’s property destruction, violence, drugs or weapons they will attempt to get you on the record agreeing to engage in a criminal activity.

When agents, goons, or secret police are trying to break a movement covertly they often use sex. There have been many an activist who was sleeping with their handler. Sex can seriously stir up some emotions. Operatives will sleep with someone who they have identified as influential. Or they will sleep with multiple people in an effort create conflict. Again, controlled opposition. Sexual manipulation can also be used to gain information and trust.

I have very purposefully using the term “secret police” above for a reason. I want to emphasize the fact that law enforcement works in concert with multiple agencies in fusion centers.

They use a process called “parallel construction” in secret to build cases against individuals. Behind closed doors in secure buildings there are rooms filled with monitors. The people sitting in these rooms will be from all branches of law enforcement. State police, sheriff’s departments, Federal Marshals, ATF, FBI, DEA, DHS along with military intelligence all sharing information and each working on their own angle to develop charges.

I have been a part of quite a few activist groups, intentional communities, ecovillages and protests. I have actively engaged in counter-culture events which suggest that there is a better way. By participating in these events which engage in dialogue about the failings of government I have found myself at the center of an investigation into alleged monkeywrenching. I was contacted by The Intercept as a result of leaked documents exposing the fact that I was considered a “person of interest”. I can’t explain to you the feelings around being singled out by law enforcement. What I can tell you is that it pushes my paranoia levels through the ceiling. It’s been difficult for me to trust people in the time since I learned that I had been investigated by the private security firm Tiger Swan. I began to genuinely see that there are secret police active in the USA. Not only secret police acting on behalf of cities and states, but private security guards who were selected because of their training in special operations military squads who are hired guns for mercenary groups. The idea that there are armed individuals actively attempting to gain positions of trust inside of citizens groups should be alarming and somehow undercover just sugar-coats what is actually happening. The secret police in the USA are actively trying to develop cases against citizens. Covertly going to the very edge of entrapment with the knowledge that they will be forgiven their crimes and shielded by lawyers and judges. Heck, we even have secret prisons and secret courts, but those will have to wait for another post.

I can’t caution you folks enough. If you are involved in a popular movement or citizens group be aware that there are likely police in the room with you.

Do take the time to know who you are involved with. Meet their family and develop the types of relationships which agents and police cannot develop, learn about security culture.

Be cautions. Stay peaceful. Stay legal.
