Real life Okja coming? Gene-edited (aka Gene-Editibles) farm animals are coming to store near you. What you can do about it.

Hey everybody, how’s your day? So I stumbled across some unpleasant news.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-6508371/Gene-edited-farm-animals-created-scientists.html

“Scientists are using gene-editing to create a new generation of farm animals resistant to diseases and able to put on weight more efficiently.”

A little predictive programming for ya ⬇️

Okja

”In 2007, self-styled 'environmentalist' Lucy Mirando becomes CEO of the Mirando Corporation, succeeding her twin sister Nancy. She announces that they have been breeding a special kind of “super pig”.

It’s not that it’s actually news to me. I’ve known this was coming for years. It’s nothing really new except for lab process than genetically modified animals. Such as the gm salmon ( currently sold in Canada). Or the enviropig they tried to launch years back but failed. Not to mention gm moths and mosquitoes and what have you.

And I could go on a big rant about all the doom and gloom this will bring, such as the all the unpredictable genetic anomalies this can result in. I’ve covered all that in the past

SobWhat we can do?

Well there’s many things you can do to protect yourself. Drawing on the actions we took back in the MAM (March against Monsanto) days.

We educated ourselves, get the word out, organize marches, print flyers. Go to our local grocery chains and ask them to sign a pledge not to carry any gene edited products. We boycott these products and any businesses that sell them. Grow your own food, save your seeds. Find local (organic) farmers and give them your business as much as possible.

People might think we failed with gmos because they remain on the market. But if you think about it, we won in many ways. The public perception has continuously been in our favour. Fact, gmos have never been widely accepted since they were introduced back in 1996. Organic supply and demand has shot up and continues to grow ever since. The chemical giants have had nothing but failure since the start, they’ve had to buy out and merge with each other over the years just to keep going.

This gene edited food though...This is going to be a much tougher fight. But we can do it, we can destroy the public perception of their Gene-Editibles. We just need to work together, stop with all this left right divide and conquer. This is time to find common ground, fight the good fight, for food independence.
