RE: The most valuable commodity on the planet is running out – water

WRT to US, it will be the ultra-wealthy and those in power who survive here. The US is not very good at taking care of most of its citizens, preferring instead to favor those who can buy... I mean, DONATE money to politicians. We allow bottled water companies to sink their own wells into the water table and then in times of drought continue to take water out and sell it, despite the drought. While the rest of us face water bans at those times, the bottled water companies do not! The US has moved beyond "f__k the poor" to "f__k anyone who is not ultrawealthy." Just today the Trump admin rolled back more environmental protections to allow development on protected lands, including drilling. At a time when we need to reduce use of fossil fuels, he and GOP are trying to increase the use. George Carlin said it well: "They call it the American Dream, because you'd have to be asleep to believe it."

Well said sir, the screws are being tightened on the masses of humanity by the ultra rich, and the ecology of the planet is taking strain. The planet is finite, but capitalism and the quest for profit is infinite, it seems. Such short term vision in the leaders makes me wonder who is really in control of the levers of power.
