Nice post, the Rushkoff article is interesting too. I wonder why those rich folks wanted to talk to that Douglas guy, is he a pretty famous tech writer or something?
I wondered that myself! At first I thought it was about escaping the Event- but as I read on I came to think it was more about absolving themselves of any responsibility should a catastrophe happen- or if the transhumanist/AI "experiment" get out of hand.
