  @cupidzero laid out both possibilities and explained the arguments and indicators behind each scenario; this is what critical thinking is about...it is not just about making an argument, it is looking at multiple possibilities and seeking the most likely one. You'll notice that @cupidzero did not make a definite statement regarding which option was true, as he did not have the proof he felt would "make the case"...finally, he let us know of his own bias in presenting these facts:

If this conflict is real or Kabuki theater is difficult to determine and thus both possibilities will be considered based on publically available information and my own thoughts on the matter.

  @aconsciousness makes a firm argument for the kabuki theatre scenario based upon the "Corporate America" theory:

One could also look up UNITED STATS OF AMERICA INC on the New York Stock Exchange. It has a President, a Vice President and two boards of directors. One board is called Congress and another board is called the Senate.

  The Trump/Deep State War Explained!

  @joelfriedman68 makes the argument that the Trump/Deep State is real and is based upon an unfinished attack upon American liberty (fwiw, this is my own bias as well):

The Deep State/Establishment went ALL IN on Hillary and to them it didn’t matter what underhanded/illegal actions they would take to ensure her victory because a Hillary victory meant that they would be rewarded for their efforts and any wrong doing would never be exposed.

Contest Notes

• First of all, the contest didn't go off as planned because I took the week off basically. So let me offer my apologies to the entrants, to the IW Board, and to the IW community as a whole.
• I will pay the winners from my own account, because I posted the contest on my account instead of from @informationwar. I will continue this in the future, I believe, as the bulk of my writing on Steemit lately has been related to Informationwar organization instead of my own projects. Feel free to call me out on this point if you feel it to be unfair.
• There were only two judges instead of three due to my mishandling of the contest; @richq11 had volunteered to step in and decide if there was going to be a tie, but I think both 2nd Place winners deserve full credit!
• Each Judge had points in the amount of 3-2-1 to distribute amongst the entries; I may vary this method by allocating lump-sum points in the next contest.
• The Second Week Writing Contest will be opened tomorrow
