Yeah or just buy the freeze dried stuff.
That will be hard after the SHTF. You also won't have food you can be sure of.
Besides, I have purchased some of this, and it is expensive for something I can make myself!

A vacuum pump. The vacuum makes the ice outgas water, which is carried away; by this pump.
