ONCE UPON A SLAVE

Let me make this little narratives before I venture fully into the valley of talks. Once upon a time, the tortoise and his master were both attending an extravagant party, the tortoise known as a cunning animal pleads to his master to address him as a son and not a slave in this function. The master obliged and promise to address the tortoise as his own son. This party was really well organized and the main dish for the day was boiled yam because it was the time of yam harvest.

On getting to the venue, the tortoise and his master were well received by the party host and a large portion of yam was dished out to him since he was introduced as the son of his master. The tortoise being greedy and a renowned glutton was not satisfied with the meal he was been served, he sneaked from the presence of his master and went to the back stage were the food was been prepared and feed on the yam peels. The host found him feeding on peels and called on the attention of his master. The host were flabbergasted because they never believed a son of a noble man could stool so low to eating yam peels, when the master got to the scene, he quickly renounced his initial claim and loudly told the listeners that the tortoise is nothing but a slave to him and never a child, the tortoise wept and left the scene in disgrace.

ANALOGY

There is a common saying in my hood that goes thus "a great fool will always be ungrateful", is this really true. Another is;"you can take a man out of the village but can't take the village out of the man".

Most of the African nations celebrates freedom from slavery and independence from
colonial imperials but left a chain in their brain.

When I hear some persons saying the European captured their forefathers as slaves, what I ask them is, what have you done to liberate yourself. All African nation breathe till date with the inventions of the western world, the leaders and people of African would have been the most functionally useless set of being if not for the European interference, I term ourselves a conservative bigot who will always look for alibis.

Just imagine African so called leaders going to Europe to seek solutions for Africans problems, how on earth do you expect a rival to help you surpass him, it quite appalling, until we start to assume responsibility, I see nothing but retrogression.

Among all the African nations none can boast of the weakest nuclear weapon, instead they make eradication of poverty and folly display of miserable diseases a continental anthem. Poverty can never leave this soil, it has already become part of our emblem, but until we change our mentality and liberate ourselves from this messed up life, it will be a pity we still breeding a next generation of naggers and empty headed foes.

In essence, the change of name does not connote a change in mentality, if you call a white, a black the fact still remains and if it went the other way round a black is still a black. The color and status we find ourselves should not be a barrier to our existence, lets cease being dogmatic and embrace new ideas and total change in our lives, the sky is just too wide enough for all to fly.

Listen out, nobody can solve your problem but you. We need to come together and solve our problems, the name, third world nation is quite embarrassing, we need a big and strong united States of Africa, where innovation and advancement in all ramifications will be the other of the day, we need to break ourselves from the dynasty of these vision less leaders we flaunting around, they are nothing but disgrace to the African soil. They fought for independence for their own selfish interest, without a defined road map see where we find ourselves today, all African nations are nothing but a dumping ground for the Europeans and we still see ourselves as being important. Wake up!!!!!

I am not trying to insult anyone but we just need to be factual with ourselves and know the truth is always the truth and that can never change. Let us all come together to liberate Africa from her days of economic and general redundancy.
