One very clever idea came from the Lutheran Church of America. Back in the classic days of television, they produced and financed a series of shows called "Davey and Goliath."
Here's one:
The Church offered them free - free as in MIT-license free! - to any TV station that asked. So, a lot of TV stations did so and aired them. They reached a lot of kids that way.
I'm hoping there isn't some sick punch-line to that story. Will research it. Thanks, @nxtblg.
There should't be. I don't think the Lutheran Church had that kind of humour.
