The only issue with this is that it still requires an every source to compress the air. I do think this could be an awesome way to store energy form renewables for later use though. Essentially just having air pressure act as a battery.

I am still trying to adjust my thinking as we all have been so indoctrinated with "thermodynamics" , but yes, what you say feels correct to me. Thanks for adding to the puzzle @nmcdougal94
