The Sumerians believed that. There was a dark star found outside the Kuyper belt with a planet orbiting it. The astronomers who located it believed that the Sun's gravity was drawing it closer... then they died mysteriously.

Speaking of that, could a small star orbit a giant blue star?

I'm far from an expert, but I would say yes. It makes sense to me that the gravity exerted by a blue giant would be more than sufficient to hold a smaller star in orbit.
