They were offered by Tulsa, to become a suburb. That process is called annexation here, and makes them slightly less independent (but not much) from Tulsa. SS said NO, and started annexing north and south to "Block" Tulsa. Now they are a mile wide city, ten miles long; surrounded by Tulsa....

Too late, Tulsa just added the infrastructure around them. They are no longer needed now.
