A True Patriot and a World's Hero
You're not a patriot if you are drafted to go kill innocent people across the planet so some few will make more money. You're definitely not a martyr if you get killed and not a hero if you get injured during such assignments, you're nothing but a criminal mercenary thug, whether the money you're paid is little or much, it's irrelevant.

The United States was infiltrated and manipulated from within towards global warfare and many different things especially in the 1900's. War is not always bad but generally is counterproductive.

What about those who flee from their country in times of trouble ?
Depends on the people and circumstances there's no general base for this. Tens of thousands of Syrians remained and fought and were killed, otherwise Europe would be flooded with terrorists, not refugees who 20% are from Syria and the rest are from everywhere else. While some who are supporting their families took their families to safety.
There's no real excuses for young men who are capable of fighting to flee, except if they're family supporters like when the young man is the only male in the family or has children or supporting elders. Syrians are warriors and we've proven this in the past 9 years for the whole world. Your country is a major contributor to the terrorists in my country and our country is the size of one of your states especially if we exclude the open deserts which are the vast majority size. Add to your country Britain, the USA, Turkey our large neighbor.. France, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the rest... The world should be grateful for the Syrians for the fight we put up while others failed in the first weeks.
People should consider staying and fighting for their country first before fleeing as a last resort. If people always try to flee, then you may get to the point where there is no where else to flee to.
