My Entry
Legends of the End of Time and the Beginning of Cryptopia
Once Upon A Time,
Before the first days of Cryptopia, long before the Digital Castle was constructed there were a group of rebels.
They were a noble, loyal and kind tribe who escaped from a prison-world ruled by a tyrannical overlord named The Clock. It was a terrible world full of never ending production - a world where the people worked as slaves putting together millions of toys all day long but never got to play with a single one of them.
There wasn’t a single tree or flower, not a bird or frog. The air was stale and dry, not a fresh breeze to be felt - only the warm, thick air blowing out of their crude production machines. There was no outside and no nature like we have here.
The Clock had ruled there to be only two times: Work and Break time. The alarm would sound to indicate breaktime and go off again to signal worktime. Breaktime was never as long as worktime and it came very rarely.
Most people of that world could not take their eyes off The Clock but the Rebels,by some miracle or malfunction, were able to look around. Whenever one of the rare breaktimes was announced all the slaves would just stand there watching the Clock, waiting for it to announce breaktime was over but these special rebels would leave their posts and gather to talk by @apolymask’s station.
Everything changed that epic breaktime when @apolymask declared he had an idea:
”Everyone, I have a plan - a way we can flee from this place. The Book says there are other worlds, right? We just need to get there…
Well, recently, instead of producing the toys I was assigned to make, I used those blueprints from The Book and I built a spaceship - a real, working spaceship!”
He went over to his workbench and brought back a toy spaceship.
The group of friends stared in wonder.
“I know what it seems like... but look..” and @apolymask pulled a vial of liquid out from his pocket.
This vial glowed a deep orange, as if you had botted our Sun just as it was going down one evening. The faces of all the friends lit up upon seeing it.
Each friend recalled feeling, smelling or hearing something different when they set their eyes on that magic juice but each and every one wanted to taste it.
Just then The Clock screamed out that breaktime was over. The sounds of production picked back up and no one could hear - worried that they would lose their chance @apolymask swigged the vial and passed it on. Each friend took any equally small swig, assuring that there was enough for all.
The magic juice knocked them all out and when they awoke they were seated inside the toy-spaceship, each in their own chair. Through the windows they could see their world below - a beachball sized, tan colored planet clouded in smog and smoke.

The rebels traveled through galaxy after galaxy in search of the perfect new home.
One day the ship got pulled into a black hole and ended up in a whole new universe. Immediately they spotted a little blue planet.
They landed here in Cryptopia when the forest was still a baby, with only saplings here and there. The group disembarked and constructed the Digital Castle in a field of grass alongside the forest.Together the friends used the instructions in The Book and built a thriving community. Each person found they had a special, unique talent in one of the 5 areas of skills.
The rebels vowed The Clock would never enslave the people of Cryptopia. There would be all types of different productions and each person would get to enjoy what they made by sharing it with others. No breaktime alarm would be required because the people could break and work as they pleased. Each person would be held at a high standard and given the respect their talents deserved.
And so ends the legend of how Cryptopia came to be.
May these honorable standards never fall.
And remember, if you ever hear someone say, “What is it, breaktime?” - know that it is your duty as a Cryptopian to fight off the encroaching, evil Clock by replying, “There is no Time here.”
The End.
Thanks for checking out my entry.

This was a lovely story @amariespeaks. It felt like a Charlie and the chocolate factory kind of tale. Enjoyed reading it. I just don't know how to write children's stories. I am warped I guess.
Lovely read.
thanks @warpedpoetic this is the first children's story I've ever wrote lol - I tell my boys stories at bedtime sometimes but never took the time to really write one.. I'm usually terrible at short stories but I'm glad you liked it
It was a good read, u should do more of it. Maybe even write a collection for your boys.
Another task added to my never ending to-do-list :) I need to start finishing more things and starting less LOL but new ideas are so much fun!
@charisma777 It may be just a legend but I thought it was worth immortalizing in a book 😜☺
I thought that was a fantastic short story. Your kids are lucky to have a storyteller for a parent. So many kids miss out on good little stories.
thanks @bashadow ! ☺ The aliens sent me this one lol 👽
What a great story @amariespeaks. I read this about 3 or 4 times! I pictured the kids of Cryptopia all gathered around intently listening to the story of their hero @apolymask! Thank you for finding Legends of the End of Time and the Beginning of Cryptopia...This would have truly been a lost treasure if not found!
thanks @iexplore ! I'm so happy you liked it! maybe one day we can all escape from the evil clock lol
A great manifestation!
Absolutely loved it!!! :) You're an amazingly talented writer amariespeaks! You're great at drawing, and poetry and at short stories! You really are a well rounded artist! I hope some day we look back at this story and bashadows poem and others and we reminisce about the awesome and creative stories and poems and artwork that the early players/heroes made. :)
I seriously love this story so much. I dunno who I'm voting for yet as there are some great ones! But definitely leaning towards this one right now! Excellent work! :) Thanks for sharing your awesome creative and imaginative writing with us! I hope we get to hear more like this from you in the future some day! :D
thank you @apolymask :) It came out of no where and evolved nicely, I thought.. for my first short story lol I liked seeing everyone's stories. This was a cool round definitely. I'm always skeptical of writing fantasy stuff like this.. just can't tell if it's corny or actually good haha but I' so happy to hear you liked it !!
That was your first short story? Wow. Well done for a first try! It's even more epic in that light. :D
lol thank you :) Everytime I start out to write a short story I end up 5 chapters into it and no end in sight hahah this was quite a learning experience for me - I think I like writing short stories after all - you just have to keep the end and the tying points all in mind and sum it up as quick as you can lol
You're welcome. And.. Yeah.. Maybe making them shorter is the key you're looking for, cause you're definitely a great writer!
lol that's the bane of my existence. I over write everything hahah
I feel your pain, lol.. I'm similar.. I even overwrite on regular small messages way too often!
lol me too! #thestruggleisreal
As is usually the case there were a bunch of really good entries, I really enjoyed this round. These stories were all fun to read. However, I absolutely loved your story the most amariespeaks, it had me enthralled and captivated and wanting to read more! I vote for you this round! Great work! Thanks for the awesome entry! :D
thank you @apolymask ! I am honored to have your vote ! :-D
I clapped after reading this, you are a great story teller. I vote you for this round.
thank you so much @addempsea :) glad you liked it! I thought it came together pretty good for a quick short story. I wanted to tell about the community - like a legend we could really tell the children ;-) nothing better than a hero beating an evil suppressor!
This is great the way you made your post its child friendly too not that much words a child wont understand. Very well done you have my vote!
Thank you @xomegax ! I'm so happy to have your vote and that you liked my story! Maybe I'll write more children stories.. they are really fun!
Oh i just notice that this is a catch up round sorry you were not allowed to enter since you already won one
ohh I didn't even realize! Sorry ! but glad we will see someone new take this round. 👌
Its all good
Oops! It was just brought to my attention that this was a catch up round and that you've already won a round.. I wonder if it's possible if you signed up for this one before we announced your first win.. Lemme check.
Yeah.. Bummer. You won your first round around a month ago and this challenge was about 20 days ago. So you had already won a round before you entered this round. I unfortunately have to give my vote to someone else as the catch up rounds are only for people who have not won a round yet. Sorry! I really wanted to vote for yours.. :( But.. Even though I can't vote for you, I do hope we can still use your story in the future somehow! I think it's a great addition to our world and should be saved and shown to people in the future just to show what kind of amazing content our players create in regards to this world!
Sorry! That's my bad I should have put just for fun entry ! This was a while ago and I'd totally forgotten it was a catch up round. 🙈🙈
No worries! Glad you shared it either way! It was a wonderful story and I hope to share it more in the future to show the cool kind of things our community members make about the IFC. :) Even though you didn't win cause it was a catch up, I still feel like that was a legendary entry worthy of being remembered into the future! :)
thank you! I had a blast writing it and I'm just glad people read it and liked it! Hopefully I will get a chance to write another one some day ;-)
You're welcome, and yeah for sure! That would be awesome if we get to hear more of that story by you some day! :D
