Grieving mother met her dead daughter in VR
Touching, emotional and very sad video
In South Korea, a group of television workers helped a grieving mother meet her dead daughter. The girl Nayen was only seven years old when an incurable disease took her away. Thanks to modern technology, her mother met a virtual copy of her daughter in VR, played and even chatted with her. Ten minutes of the touching and sad documentary were posted on YouTube.
It took the authors of the documentary about eight months to create the virtual Reality. They not only recreated the girl's appearance, but were able to synthesize her voice, as well as create a Park where she loved to play with her mother and celebrated her birthday there with her.
Journalists of Futurism suggest that such meetings with deceased relatives and acquaintances will become the norm in the near future. To create a virtual copy of a person, the creators of such scenes will need photos, video and audio — a special neural network will do the rest.
