A lion has a top speed of 50 mph.

The Pronghorn barely outrun it by 55 mph.

Here is the cheetah, topping out at 75 mph.

And cheetah is whooped by albatross at 80 mph.

The hobby and the swift fly at about 100 mph.

But the golden eagle easily doubles it, at 200 mph. This has to be fastest, right?

"Nope", says the Peregrine falcon. It can hit a speed of 242 mph in its hunting dives.

Just a reminder, Usain Bolt's top speed is 28mph.
