Canadian National Animal.
National animal of Canada. Beaver was entitled to the official Canada national animal on March 24, 1975. Castor canadensis is the scientific name of Beaver. It is commonly known as North American beaver, also called the Canadian beaver, American beaver, or beaver, which is native to Canada, greatly in the United States, state of Sonora and Chihuahua in northern Mexico.
National animal of Canada, Beavers mate during the winter, from January to March. American beavers give births to one to four kits that weigh around 9 to 21 ounces (250 to 600 g) after a gestation period of around 105 to 107 days.
Maybe the Beaver’s bodies are made for the water. Its rudder-like tail and webbed feel are propelling them through the water at 5 mph (8 kph). According to National Geographic, the Beavers can stay underwater for around 15 minutes at a time. The tails aren’t used only for swimming but also use to startle predators as they dive out of harm’s way by slapping the water with them.
Canada’s national animal, Beaver has economic value. As a fur animal, the value of the beaver added a significant role to the journeying and expansion of western civilization in North America. Now, the Beavers are an imperative economic and entertaining resource due to the value of their fur and to modifying habitat.
Beaver’s dams stabilize water flow, enhance wetland to wildlife habitats, reduce siltation, and preserve water. Beavers can cause considerable damage to property by flooding roads, septic systems, fields, and pastures; flooding or cutting timber or ornamental plants; and destroying water retention devices.
National animal of Canada, Beavers naturally live 20-24 years if they are not exterminated by humans or causes related to humans
