Convicts Transfered From Ukraine "Rebel" DPR to Ukraine.

There was a transfer of convicts from Donetsk People's Republic to Ukraine of who expressed a desire to serve their sentence in Ukraine

Today 13 December, 13 prisoners were turned over to Ukraine. They were convicted before the start of the war,& expressed a desire to continue serving the sentence on the territory of Ukraine, as well as the materials of their criminal cases.

The transfer was carried out by the State Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Donetsk People's Republic with the participation of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Donetsk People's Republic pursuant to the Decree of the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic of 12.11.2015 No. 424 “On the transfer of convicts who are in institutions that execute the punishments of Donetsk People's Republic and criminal materials in the courts and investigative bodies of the Donetsk People's Republic, to the territory of Ukraine ”.

As the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People's Republic, Daria Morozova, said, since 2016, 199 convicts were transferred unilaterally as a goodwill gesture to Ukraine. “This transfer of convicts took place without incident,” she clarified.
