Found this image made by CoinGecko on FB and wanted to share it. I actually like CoinGecko, their conversion tools are really helpful.

Have you lost any money to an exchange? I'd love to read about your experience.

Which is why so many say, don't leave your money on an exchange.

Always keep it in a wallet, where you own the keys.

Not your keys, not your money.

a third of my bitcoins got jacked trying to turn them into pay pal when i first cashed out of steemit. Prolly to the tune of 750 bucks when it happend, that was when bitcoin was at 1400 a coin so what that comes to now i dont even want to think of.
oh coinme the bitcoin atm i use, they are a nice chunk for washington. they pay 500 bucks under what ever bitcoin is going for and after taking 500 off the total value of a coin they hit you with a 50%+ fee so im constantly seeing the atm saying you have 33.89 in your ballance and that is nont enough to withdraw 20 bucks with fees. but that balance is after they subtract the 500bucks per bitcoin from the price so your actual balance is 38.97 and thats not enough to take out 20 bucks. oh and if u want to transfer that balance to a differnt wallet there is a 27 dollar charge. LOL bitcoin atms suck!

Sorry bout my rant but when i actually think about it with the new transfer fees of 5 bucks for 20 dollars and then everything else in between its about 50% of what i have tried to use in bitcoin has been jacked by someone on the chain of operation.
:D
one day ill hit 0.5 bitcoin i swear!

Maybe you should try getting giftcards instead if you want to spend some, converting to fiat can come at a high price.

Yeah, i have just told myself last week im not taking any bitcoins out till after i move back to vegas in a couple months. 20 Here and 20 there with fees and stuff at the atm is eating it up faster then i would like it to. Giftcards is a good idea but when i end up spending it its usually for something where i cant use cards.
best thing is learn more and do more reasearching before spending bitcoins. Im so sketched about it i almost dont buy alot of stuff using bitcoin because my trys before all ended up a scam. lol
im hoping in vegas i might be able to find places that actually take bitcoins, i know they have atms but would be alot kooler if i could just walk into a store and pay with actual coins and only dealing with a transfer fee.
:D
Ahh the future!!!! i cant wait. lol

whats the story with steemit 85k?

I know at some point Steemit was hacked but I am not sure exactly what they are referring to in the graphic
