Avengers 4 sees Robert Downey Jr's Tony Stark go blonde in odd new look

We're expecting all-manner of world shattering revelations in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, from potential deaths and maybe a female Thor, but perhaps the most shocking news of all has now emerged: Tony Stark has gone blonde.

Steady yourselves, Earth. Not only is Robert Downey Jr's brazen billionaire defiantly maintaining a goatee decades after they fell out of fashion, now he's swapped his raven locks for a strange shade of sandy blonde – along with grey on his temples.

Iron Man's new look – which isn't that dissimilar to what you'd expect to see on a Euro popstar – could mean a number of things, not including a terrible new hairdresser.

Perhaps this is a future Tony Stark that's travelled using Doctor Strange's Time Gem to send a warning to the Avengers.

Also, it's worth noting that Captain America is wearing the same outfit from 2012's The Avengers. So maybe he's travelled forward, or Tony has gone back, or maybe Cap's just having a Throwback Thursday with some retro threads.

We've previously seen Tony Stark's harrowing premonition of the future of The Avengers – so maybe we might see Thanos keeping him alive while his companions fall, which could explain his haggard look.

Captain America's costume is set to have some added CGI – as does Ant Man's, as other pictures from the set show their suits covered in CGI tracking marks. Cap also seems to have a leather watch strapped to his hand the entire time.

And finally we 100% know for sure that the Hulk will be around, as poor Mark Ruffalo has been snapped walking around the set covered in a huge CGI suit. Bless him.
