Role of the State Against Poverty

The enormous political cost of holding elections should be a benchmark for attracting caring leaders to the people who are marked by the quality of the good public service of the chosen couple. Community economic empowerment, poverty alleviation issues, infrastructure improvements are limited to rhetoric when the campaign means as a means to gain votes from constituents. The presence of the state role in alleviating poverty is needed as a manifestation of state responsibility to its people.

Tb. Ronny Rahman Nitibaskara (2006) said that when there are some people who do not have the opportunity to enjoy conventional institutions such as education, health, jobs (economy) and family peace and bad environment there will be anxiety. The greater the number, the higher the anxiety, can even lead to social tension (social interest) which ultimately leads to conflict. They generally react violently to the pressures of everyday life and they seek to gain something by force.

Why violence often occurs in terms of economic fulfillment in society, of course, it is related to the role of the state in the prosperity of its people. Many things can be done by the government if the only corrupt behavior of the state apparatus can be minimized continuously. Indirectly the government deliberately let this condition take place. It is ironic that the government says poverty has fallen and economic growth has increased.

In Law no. 11 The year 2009 About social welfare, it is said that the Regional Government participates and is responsible for poverty eradication (Article 27), next Article 20 says that poverty alleviation is aimed at a). To improve capacity and develop the basic capabilities and capabilities of the poor; b). Strengthen the role of the poor in public policy making that guarantees the respect, protection, and fulfillment of basic rights; c). Realizing the economic, political and social conditions and environments that enable the poor to have the widest possible opportunity to fulfill basic rights and sustainable living standards; and Providing a sense of security for poor and vulnerable groups.

The next step that must be considered by the government is how to minimize or even eliminated the culture of corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN) for the sake of the realization of a clean and authoritative government. Surely it must be supported by good faith and high moral integrity. Trust of society who has voted in the past election so as not to be wasted. So in carrying out the mandate of a responsibility, both individual and institutional.

To support the government, it becomes the importance of effective regulation, how the resulting regulation will have a positive impact, indeed for a good regulation requires deep thinking and research so that people can truly feel the presence of the state. Of course, we agree and hope that the President, Minister, Governor, Mayor/Regent can formulate policies that pro-people and realize the increase of prosperity and can eliminate any distortions that lead to the interests of the moment. Given that development is an activity that will bring changes in people's lives. This is where the role of the state with its regulation can be applied in action.

Finally, hopefully, the government can work maximally and can eliminate all existing frictions, also supported by courage and good faith to realize a prosperous Indonesia, so as to build and unite the energy for the realization of Indonesia's glorious future.
