Tarian saman adalah sebuah tarian suku gayo yang biasa di tampilkan untuk merayakan peristiwa peristiwa penting dalam adat. Syair dalam tarian saman mempergunakan bahasa gayo. Selain itu tarian saman juga di tampilkan untuk merayakan kelahiran nabi besar muhammad SAW. Dalam beberapa literatur menyebutkan tari saman di Aceh didirikan dan di kembangkan oleh Syekh saman, seorang ulama yang berasal dari gayo Aceh tenggara
