Aqiqah Tradition
Good morning Partiko lovers, good morning Steemian friends. How are you today? Hopefully always in good health and happy, Amen.
Today I want to share stories about the Aqiqahan tradition. Aqiqah is one of the manifestations of Muslim gratitude for the birth of a child. Muslims are encouraged to hold marriage. Food distributed is not in the form of white porridge red porridge, but goat-based dishes.
The law of doing marriage is sunnah muakad or highly recommended for parents or guardians of children. There are two goats for boys and one goat for girls. In addition to goats, sheep, cattle, buffalo, or camels can also be slaughtered.
Animals slaughtered must be in good and healthy condition. That is, not to be disabled, blind, pregnant, or too thin. In addition there are also age requirements. Goats or sheep must be one year old, cattle or buffalo two years, while camels are five years old. In addition to distributing dishes made from animals which were slaughtered when aqiqah the name of the child was also announced and the hair was shaved a little.
Aqiqah tradition
The most important Aqiqah is done seven days after the baby is born. If you don't have time, it can be done on the 14th day, or 21st day. If you can't, then you can do it anytime before puberty. After passing puberty, aqiqah is done by yourself, not by parents.
Aqiqah is also done as a sign of gratitude for the birth of a child, aqiqah meat is also distributed in the form of cooked dishes. For example goat satay, curry goat, goat soup and others.
So at a glance my story about the tradition of the celebration of the birth of a child known as Aqiqah.
