Honorable the judges
Respectable all my brothers and sisters,

Praises be to Allah who has granted us the enjoyment within both inner self and outer self as the greatest gift and blessing. We bear witness that Allah is the only One who has the right to be worshipped. He is the lord of the world, the king of the king, and the creator of this universe that He has no partners.

We bear witness that Mohammed (Peace be upon Him) was the messenger of Allah who had guided us from the darkness to brightness.

In this good occasion I would like to deliver my speech entitled:
LOVE OR LOST

Before we go for further let’s know what is culture? Culture is habitation and culture is identity of nation which grows up on society area and heired by generation to generations. We have known that our country (Indonesia) is well known as a rich country which has many languages and cultures. But along with development era do we realize why our culture is fading more and more?

Dear ladies and gentlemen,
Let us see how many people are affected by the globalization influences? Specially, the teenagers nowadays are lack of awareness to love their cultures; it’s caused by the western cultures which entered to their selves through electronic, fashion, entertainment, food, and lifestyle. For example, many teenagers are happy to wear modern clothes but ashamed to wear traditional clothes, they glad to speak foreign language but ashamed to speak their mother language, they like to eat modern food but don’t like traditional food, they love to listen modern music but forget traditional music.

It is the sign that we have lost the love of national cultures. It’s proved by the existence of our cultures claimed by another country like Batik, Wayang Kulit, Pendet dance were claimed by Malaysia, but what we do? We are silent and we forget it. Don’t we know that many of our cultures are avowed by UNESCO as the World Heritage? It’s a great honor for us to better love our national cultures.

So we have to increase our love of our culture, and let’s save our culture from extinction. Therefore, as young generation, let’s keep it. We preserve, protect and promote our culture to the world. Because our country Indonesia is World Heritage. Proud to be Indonesian.

That’s all my speech I beg your forgiveness on my mistakes and I hope it will be useful for our life.
