Merdeka! —independent, The word fought with blood. Sacred word and very meaningful to this nation. Past and present. We are a generation who have never felt the struggle for independence. We believe that the hero is real and sincere in liberating this nation. Not given.

In this homeland, countless heroes are killed in the battlefield. On land, sea and air.

On land, they become fortresses that have not collapsed for thousands of years. At sea, they are a calm and clear stream. In the air, they become a star's spark that remains until the end of the world.

In the nuances of the anniversary of independence, I remember the stories of old people in my homeland, about the brave struggle of warriors. His name is Teungku Peukan, a religious leader who has a spirit of fisabilillah to defend his country.

Teungku Peukan gallant invaded the invaders in Aceh Barat Daya. At dawn on September 10, 1926, Blangpidie became a field of blood, for fighters and invaders. He, in takbir and victory was shot right in the chest. He goes forever without feeling the freedom it fights for.

This struggle up to now ringing in my mind. Merdeka is not just a word that echoed during the anniversary of independence. Truly more than that. Like a tree, freedom is seed. In order for branched and shaded trees it is our duty to preserve and maintain in order to continue growing.

We are a generation saved by the heroes of the chain of colonialism. 72 years already. Do not be influenced by the wind, branches and twigs of independence should continue to grow and develop. We are the successors who are entrusted to continue independence.
