Sudah tau dong perjalanan saya kemana? Yups saya ke kota Medan. Kota terbesar ketiga di Indonesia ini memang selalu menarik untuk dikunjungi. Kali ini yang saya jelajahi adalah Kuliner klasik yang masih bertahan dan sangat bersejarah di Kota Medan. Siapa yang pernah dengar Restoran legendaris bernamaTiptop? Yok, ikuti cerita saya ya :)

Do know where I m now? Yes, I m in Medan city. The third largest city in Indonesia is always interesting to visit. On this occasion, I'd like to bring you to explore a classic Culinary that still survive and very historic in the city of Medan. Who ever heard of the legendary Tiptop Restaurant ? C'mon, follow my story :)

RESTORAN TIP TOP DALAM SEJARAH
Restoran legendaris ini berdiri sejak tahun 1929 di jalan Pandu. Nama awalnya adalah Jangkie . Nama ini adalah nama pemiliknya. Nama Tip Top berawal saat Restoran ini pindah lokasi ke jalan Kesawan, sekarang Jalan Ahmad Yani. Karena pendudukan Jepang di tahun 1942 sampai dengan 1945 nama Tip Top dilarang dan kembali ke nama Jangkie. Saat Indonesia merdeka di tahun 1945, nama Tip Top kembali di gunakan hingga saat ini.

HISTORY OF TIP TOP RESTAURANT
This legendary restaurant was established since 1929 on JL. Pandu. At first, name was Jangkie. Name of the owner. Named Tip Top, when this restaurant moved to new location on JL. Kesawan, now Jalan Ahmad Yani. Because of the Japanese occupation in 1942 until 1945, the name Tip Top was banned and returned to the name Jangkie. When Indonesia gain Independence in 1945, the name back to Tip Top, and use until now.

NUANSA KLASIK EROPA
Layaknya bangunan bangunan legendaris lainnya, bangunan restoran ini pun bernuansa Eropa. Interiornya sangat klasik. Kursi, meja, etalase, lampu hias dan peralatan makan yang digunakanpun masih yang dulu dan terawat. Saat masuk ke restoran ini, saya pun dibawa ke era jaman Belanda. Tampak dipajang benda benda kuno seperti mesin kasir, telpon serta foto foto jaman dahulu. Saat tiba disini, kebanyakan pengunjung adalah turis asing. Ramai tapi tidak berisik. Begitu tenang dan nyaman di tengah kesibukan kota Medan. Sangat mengesankan.

NUANSA CLASSIC EUROPE
Like other legendary buildings, this restaurant building was nuanced European. The interior is very classic. Chairs, tables, windows, decorative lights and utensils still well maintained. When I entered this restaurant, I was taken to the era of the Dutch era. In resto displayed ancient objects such as cash register, telephone and photographs of antiquity. When arriving here, most visitors are foreign tourists. Many people, but not noisy. So calm and comfortable. Very impressive.

MENU RESTORAN TIP TOP
Sebenarnya banyak menunyang ditawarkan, mulai makanan Eropa seperti Bistik, makanan China seperti Ifu Mie dan makanan Nusantara seperti Nasi Goreng. Saya pun memilih ketiga makanan tersebut. Selain makanan utama, ada makanan legendaris yang sampai saat ini masih diolah dan dibuat dengan cara yang sama dan menggunakan alat alat yang sama dengan dahulu, tanpa ada zat pengawet atau artificial, yaitu Ice Cream dan Bakery. Saya putuskan memesan Ice Cream Java. Makanan di sini semua Halal, jadi bagi yang Muslim tak perlu khawatir. Tak begitu lama, makanan yang saya pesan pun datang. Saya pun menikmati setiap makanan. Semuanya enak dan semuanya habis :) .

MENU RESTORAN TIP TOP
Actually a lot of menu offered, like European food such as Steak, Chinese food such as Ifu Mie and Nusantara food such as Nasi Goreng. I chose that three foods. As addition food, there are legendary foods that are still processed and made in the same way and using the same tools with the old time, without any preservatives or artificial ingrediance. This is Ice Cream and Bakery. I decided to order Ice Cream Java. All food here is halal, so not worry for the Muslims . Not so long, the food that I ordered already come. I enjoy every meal. Everything is delicious :).

ALAMAT DAN JAM BEROPERASI RESTORAN
Bagi yang mau mencoba, alamat Restoran Tip Top ada di jalan JL. Jendral Ahmad Yani 92 A & B, Medan. Buka pukul 8 pagi hingga pukul 11 malam. Pada malam malam tertentu ada hiburan musik bagi para pengunjung.

If you want to come to this resto, the address Tip Top Restaurant is on JL. Jendral Ahmad Yani 92 A & B - Medan. Open at 8 am to 11 pm. On certain nights there is musical entertainment for the visitors.
