Memasuki bulan Agustus, hujanpun mulai turun. Tanah yang kering kerontang mulai basah, padang rumput yang gersang, sudah mulai menghijau, sungai yang mengering, mulai berair. Demikian juga air terjun, yang debitnya mulai kecil, kini mulai melimpah.

Ada sebuah desa di kecamatan Lhoong, kabupaten Aceh Besar. Nama desa tersebut adalah desa Pudeng. Desa ini berada di kaki bukit Glee Bruek. Siapa sangka di tepian bukit ini mengalir sebuah air yang sangat jernih. Mengalir diantara tebing tebing batu. Ialah Air Terjun Pudeng.

Perjalanan saya dari Banda Aceh ke desa Pudeng, Lhoong sejauh 58,2 km melewati gunung Kulu dan gunung Paro. Perjalanan ini kami tempuh naik sepeda motor selama 1 jam saja.

Air terjun Pudeng tak tampak dari tepi jalan dan tak ada tanda khusus atau petunjuk arah. Untuk mengetahui jalan masuk ke lokasi, tak ada salahnya kita bertanya dengan penduduk setempat supaya tidak nyasar. Pintu masuk ke air terjun ini merupakan pintu masuk kebun penduduk, jadi jika ada penduduk disekitar pintu masuk, baiknya minta ijin dulu. Dari pintu masuk tersebut, kita mengikuti jalan setapak yang bersisian dengan irigasi. Irigasi tersebut berasal dari air terjun Pudeng.

[We cant see Pudeng waterfall from the road and there is no signs or directions to the waterfall. To know to the location, we could ask local peoples. The entrance to the waterfall is the gate of residents' garden, so if there are any residents around the entrance, it is better to ask permission first. From the entrance, we follow the path side by side with irrigation. The irrigation comes from Pudeng waterfall].

Setelah 30 menit berjalan, kita pun sampai. Sebenarnya airnya tidak terjun, tapi merayap bertingkat tingkat. Setiap tingkatan ada kolam alami. Airnya sangat jernih.
Melihat keadaan ini, kami tak berfikir panjang.
Byurrrr... Langsung mandi. Jika yang berani, bisa lompat dari ketinggian tertentu ke kolam kecil tadi. Jika sudah begini, lupa akan pulang :)
