The city of Lhokseumawe is a city in the province of Aceh, Indonesia. The city is in the middle of the eastern route of Sumatra. It lies between Banda Aceh and Medan also and the way of the Malacca strait, Making it a vital tract of distribution and commerce in Aceh. The city of Lhokseumawe is the meaning of two words combined with the island's existence. In Aceh language "Lhok" it means Deep, Bay, Trough, and Sea. While the word "Seumawe" intends water circling or springs center on the sea along the offshore Banda Sakti (capital of Lhokseumawe which is cape town) and surrounding areas with an area of ​​islands ,11,24 km,The population of 85,000 Souls, Density 7,278 inhabitants / km² (Wikipedia)

**Port of Lhokseumawe in the Year 1955 **

Now the city of Lhokseumawe continues to grow, but there are no more foreign ships that stop here, because the port has been moved to Krueng Geukuh (One of the subdistrict capital of Aceh province) which is about 12 kilometers from the city of Lhokseumawe.

Lhokseumawe is the second largest city in Aceh province after the capital of Banda Aceh province. Melihat kontes yang diumumkan oleh @xpilar hari ini saya sangat senang, Karena ilustrasi gambar yang diberikan oleh @xpilar adalah "Kampung Halaman", Maka saya akan berkontribusi sambil menjelajahi kota asal saya. Kota tempat saya tinggal adalah salah satu Kota yang dikelilingi oleh lautan.

Kota Lhokseumawe adalah sebuah kota di provinsi Aceh, Indonesia. Kota ini berada persis di tengah-tengah jalur timur Sumatera. Berada di antara Banda Aceh dan Medan serta di perairan Selat Malaka, sehingga kota ini merupakan jalur vital distribusi dan perdagangan di Aceh.. Kota Lhokseumawe adalah makna dua kata yang dikombinasikan dengan eksistensi pulau tersebut. Dalam bahasa Aceh "Lhok" itu berarti Dalam, Teluk, Palung dan Laut. Sedangkan kata "Seumawe" bermaksud air yang melingkari atau pusat perputaran air laut sepanjang lepas pantai Banda Sakti (ibu kota Lhokseumawe yang merupakan kota yang dikelilingi oleh lautan) dan sekitarnya dengan luas pulau, 11,24 km, Populasi 85.000 Jiwa, Kepadatan penduduk 7.278 jiwa / km ². Pelabuhan Kota Lhokseumawe pada tahun 1955

Dahulu di pertengahan abad ke-20 kota Lhokseumawe masih merupakan salah satu Tanjung kota yang menjadikannya sandaran kapal kapal asing yang ingin berdagang di kota ini. Namun, Setelah abad ke 20 kapal asing tidak lagi memasuki tanjung Kota ini, Selain hanya kapal nelayan setempat.

Kini kota Lhokseumawe terus berkembang, Namun tidak ada lagi kapal asing yang berhenti di sini, Karena pelabuhan tersebut telah dipindahkan ke Krueng Geukuh (Salah satu ibukota kecamatan di provinsi Aceh) yang berjarak sekitar 12 kilometer dari kota Lhokseumawe.

Lhokseumawe adalah kota terbesar kedua di provinsi Aceh setelah ibukota provinsi Banda Aceh. Inilah yang menyebabkan kota ini terus maju dan tidak ketinggalan dalam berbagai hal informasi, Meski kota ini bukan lagi Tanjung kota seperti di era pertengahan abad ke-20. Saya percaya Kota tempat saya tinggal telah berkembangkan semenjak paska kemerdekaan, Berikut adalah beberapa foto perkembangan sejarah kota Lhokseumawe pada masa saat itu.
