Gamelan Dewi Malam at Tohono Chul Park
It is so nice to be back to performing at Tohono Chul Park, especially at this time of the year. We are usually setting up under this tree that is dropping on us big white flowers while we are playing, and I think it's pretty epic, especially as for each of our practices we are making flower offerings to deities and we burn the incense. Everything is done in a very sacred and ceremonial way.
I am studying traditional music from Bali for the last two years, and it's such a great way to meditate, and to work out our brains, practicing being present. Looking forward to moving deeper beyond my mind's limiting patterns, to play this music more masterfully!
