15th August 1947 India become free of the British.We celebrate this day as independent of India.

The British rule of India for 190 years and during this period. India people suffered. Freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh,Subhash Chandra Bose, Chandrashekhar Azad and Mahatma Gandhi fought against the British and many of them lost their lives.
15th August is the national holiday and it is celebrated as the biggest national festival all over the India.
Every student go to school in the morning to participate in the flag-hoisting event and we also perform patriotic event like plage,sport and cultural program in my school.
The prime ministers of our country hoist the flag at Red Fort in delhi.The political leaders give a speech to commemorate the freedom fighters.Then,the parade starts. It starts with the Army and is followed by cultural presentation of State of India.All citizens watch this event being shown live in their television.
In the evening we can see many buildings decorated with colourful light.Fireworks and crackers light up in the night. We can hear the sound of celebration everywhere. It is the most fun and exciting festival of India.
