Life in India
Today, I was talking to my friend Sohil G. from India, and he told me some hard facts, I am going to share with you, as India is pretty rarely mentioned in the news.
He is sick and tired of super-rich people screwing over him and others over and over again, so he wants a payback in this lifetime, something their "incompetent" judicial system can't give.
....and this is only a beginning...
When we started to chat about the facts, quality of life, I got these data:
The richest 1% in India (13 million) on average earn $20,000 annually
95% of the battle in India is competing hard amongst 300 Million middle class Indians, avoiding backstabs, screw-ups, government, practically everyone trying to screw you up and decimate you. Once you are above, competition is thinner, you are battle-hardened, but scarred heavily, and if young, then ready to go for the overkill.
I would like double cheeseburger and pepsi
It takes 40 years on average in India to become a billionaire, assuming 20% growth on a $1 million business. The system is definitely skewed in favour of those who started off well, as they are loaded with human and financial capital, and fresher. But nothing has stopped smart, ambitious, hungry meat-eaters to hunt and satiate their hunger. All excuses are nonsense.

It's a hard place. Corruption, high taxes, low income possibilities, labor exploitation, 80% people live on less than $2 per day. The government paints a very good image out in the world, but it's one of the most ruthless, miserable, corrupted and competitive place right now. Mean GDP is $1700 only. Only 78 million Indians make close to $10 per day.
Wealth disparity is huge. The top 0.1% might be controlling 50% of the wealth. The power law is really pushed to an asymptote when it comes to wealth distribution in India.
Cows still mean a lot to their culture
The latest iPhone costs $1400 in India, and represents half a year's salary for an Indian who is in the top 10% earners. Even Netflix subscription costs a week's income. Quality products/services are out of reach for most, and budget products/services are definitely cheaper, but significantly inferior in quality.
They sell Pepsi in McDonald's there? That seems unlikley.
That was mostly a joke, but as pepsi and coca cola are known all over the world, I wouldn't be even surprised
I remember , if there was anything about India, you could read only about markets going up, and how it will be the next China
Under those conditions....that's very unlikely. A lot of them are looking for work in China.
