Independence day has just become a fad among Indians..

If you are an Indian, you must be knowing that it is our Independence Day today. But, before changing your facebook and whatsapp profile pictures and forwarding different patriotic messages, let us step back and think what have we done for our country. Patriotism has reduced to posting stuff on facebook timelines, buying some flags to display on your car dashboards and a mere holiday to get decked up in orange, white and green.

The crime rates have increased manifolds in our country, the women of our country are not safe, the corruption rates are at the highest, and we are celebrating saying my Incredible India. I know that we cannot make a huge difference, but can we teach our sons to respect women, treat our daughters as our sons, and stop pressurizing children just for the sake of society? We should stop thinking and doing what others want and do what we want to progress in our lives and help to develop our nation.

Only then can India become great!
