A Day in Train -Travelling to my Native Place #2

in #india6 years ago

Continued.....Part 1

While I went to my birth which happen to be a middle seat. Soon as expected Ticket..Ticket.... voice broke my sleep. Two men in Black coat is asking everyone to show them the ticket. They are the Ticket colector, who use to check the genuineness of each reservation. I shown my ticket and again gone to my sleep.....The shaking bogey and chuking rail sound made sleep harder..still i get my body to stretch and relax on my reservation seat.

Chaii..Chaii ..garam chaaii mark the starting the next day on train. The most familiar sound on every train. The morning tea vendor has arrived in a familiar way. With his voice he made sure that everyone get awake from sleep.

image

A big Aluminium kettle on top of a coal stove. The guy is selling hot tea in paper cup. You gonna trust me, every tea seller on each train have same voice. Not sure how they manage, kind of voice from throat in a peculiar way. They are suppose to be the morning alarm. Always found shouting with their choked voice.

It was 7.30 AM we were crossing over the Ganga river bridge and nearing to Allahabad station. I went to the train door to see the gignatic river Ganga. It was awesome veiw. However i missed to take the picture. The days go on, we were far from the urban area and green fields and fresh crop make some nice view outside from the train window.

image

This green view pulled me to write a detailed post on my journey. There is not much rush in the train and everyone are chatting with each other . One thing I liked most that these trip is that many people interact with each other and train coach may sometime get a very nice political arena with few people try to put there insight on each of the political parties.

It was a long journey and everyone wants to have some entertainment and healthy discusion to spend their time. In the mean time i was trying to get some hot content for my steemit family. Soon I get another one. A very colorful one too.

image

Red Tomatoes, Yellow Lemmon, Green Chillies Chopped Onions and basket full Black Gram sprouts. A spicy afternoon snack. The vendor carrying the basket on his neck and sellong the items in newspaper pieces. An effective way to save plate cost. Either these vendor use big leafes or paper cutting to serve there snacks. Many people bought it to have s spicy and tangier taste to their mouth.

I was closing in to my destination and another 2 hrs left to reach to my station. Everyone had their lunch from train pantry boys. The train meals serves complete platter of Indian food that includes, Chapati, Rice,Pulses, Vegetable and pickles. those who were travelling more far off had their lunch. But I am more focussed on finding something interesting, and luckily i get another one just before i deboarded. The Basket full of Chucumber.

image

The peeled light Green Chucumber is good for health too. Many have it as salads whereas many like to have it as it is. I had it too. Properly sliced in length and little sparkle of salt and pepper is a treat to eat. My afternoon brunch.

Finally , the time came when I say good bye to my Co-paasenger. It was 4 PM and i was about to deboard. The journey which started a night before is getting to finish with some really happy memory and chit-chat. And of course some moments for Steemit.

Hope you all have enjoyed the Train ride..with many interesting photos.

Stay Calm....

Keep Steeming...Steem On !!!

Great description @steemflow. We eat a lot of cucumbers but I've never seen it served like that.

As usual, I found your post on #steemitbloggers

Thanks @reonlouw they are the sellers and chucumbers direct from farm. People love to have it during summer as it is good for tummy at least better than any spicy stuff...

Just love train travel, always an adventure in any country @steemflow

Early mornings on trains when we traveled as children with our parents, coffee arrived with a lot of noise. Now everyone goes by plane or car, I miss that slow pace of a train and good company.
