Schools are working on safety

in #india6 years ago

Recently a school in Pune, Maharashtra, India decided to put forth a new set of rules which didn't go down well with the parents. While the school authorities claimed that the rules were in the behest of the pupils, parents opposed saying that the rules were just too humiliating, specially for the girls studying in the school. Did the school change the rules, no, it decided to ignore the parents and stick to the rules.

The new managing committee at Pune's Maeer's MIT School decided to implement a new set of rules for the safety of the kids at school, but according to parents and the new set of rules would do little towards the safety of their kids instead would hurt their self esteem. The new set of rules laid by the school included that the girls are supposed to wear only white or skin coloured undergarments and also the kids would be allowed to use the washroom only during the designated time.

While the parents protested that it was wrong on the schools part to communicate the new rules in the assembly in a co education school and also complained that it was very wrong to limit the time to use the washroom as young girls may need to use it any time or may be multiple times in a day.

The school doesn't seem to budge to the parents opposition and is in no mood to do it anywhere in the near future too. I am curious to know how is the school going to check if the girls have worn the specified coloured innerwear to school, I mean it's not like checking ribbons and socks isn't it???
