The structure is made out of a solid shape, 47.5 m (156 ft) on each side, topped by a rooftop 44 m (144 ft) in outer distance across.
Eight meeting curves made by two turned squares that make interlocking pendentives bolster the arch.
At every one of the four corners of the 3D square, is an arch topped octagonal pinnacle seven stories high with a staircase inside.
The upper floor of each pinnacle opens on to a round exhibition which encompasses the vault.

Amidst the platform, a cenotaph piece on the ground denotes the genuine grave underneath,
"the main occurrence of this training" in the design of the Deccan sultanates.

With a zone of 1,700 m2 (18,000 sq ft), The sepulcher has one of the greatest single chamber spaces on the planet.

Circling within the arch is the "Whispering Gallery" where even the mildest sound can be heard on the opposite side of the catacomb because of the acoustics of the space.
