India test-fires BrahMos from Sukhoi fighterjet

• For the first time, India has created history by successfully test-firing the supersonic cruise missile BrahMos from a Sukhoi-SOMKI tighter jet today.

• The missile, weighing a 2.4-tonne instead of the original 2.9-tonne, was fired from a twinengine Sukhoi fighter over the Bay of Bengal.

• The air-to-ground sleek BrahMos missiles can be used for pinpoint strikes on terror camps.
