माताओं के स्तन से पीला दूध निकलता है, यह नवदुग्ध
(कोलोस्ट्रोम) कहलाता है। यह बहुत पौष्टिक होता है।
तथा बच्चों को संक्रमण तथा एलर्जीसे सुरक्षा प्रदान
करता है। हालांकि पहले के दो-तीन दिनों में इसकी
थोड़ी मात्रा भी बच्चों के लिए पर्याप्त होती है।
