Heera & Ranjha - THE LOVE STORY

Once again I am going to tell you a Indian folk love story, hope you like it.

Long ago, a young man named Ranjha lived in a village in india, He is the the youngest among eight brothers, Ranjha was a flute player and his father’s favorite, he like to playing his flute all day long. One day unfortunately his father died, Ranjha's brothers have divided the inherited land and left the village.

In the tragedy of his father, he played his flute, Ranjha’s brothers thought he was an idle fool who spent his time playing his flute, so they wanted to take advantage, they allotted him an unfruitful piece. Ranjha got angry on them and left from the village, he walk along the Chenab River, in search of something good in life.

One night, Ranjha saw a mosque on the way so he decided to spend a night in the mosque, and continue his journey in the morning. He played his flute til he feel sleep, the person who incharge of the mosque came to him who heard the music of the flute. He told him that flute-playing was not Islamic, and prohibited in the mosque. Ranjha said "Music is never belongs to any religion, and this innocent tune was hardly a sin compared to religious revenge acts" the incharge speechless, and had no other choice but to let him stay the night in the mosque.

In the morning, Ranjha reached to the village of Jhang. There was a large farm with cattle and fields. He went to the farm owner approached him for work. The owner, agreed to his offer and gave him a room for stay.

In the evening he saw a beautiful girl Heera, who is daughter of the farm owner. Heera, means diamond, she also not less than diamond. Words not enough to explain her beauty. She had a face of full moon, eyes of precious gems, teeth like the jasmine flower, lips red like ruby, a nose sharp like the end of the sword.

She impressed Ranjha's flute, his long hair, well built physique and melodic flute-playing, attracted Heera. She was in love with him, they both fell in love with each other. They flourish their love slowly and truly for few years.

Unfortunately, Heera's uncle spotted the lovers one day. He went to Heera's parents to discuss the matter. One or the other day the love matter will come to know.

Heer’s parents convenienced her, but she did not agree them. She said, she was in love with Ranjha and she never live without himr. Heera's parents disappointed, called the head of the community who judged matters of the village in under their law.

The judge said "I was expected of good girl, as respect for parents and their honor, but you are only grew more adamant."
She cried and said "Drugs cannot be taken away from an addict, Ranjha could not be stolen from me, only the God could change our destiny now."
She show her hand a scar, she had once burnt herself with an iron in memories of her Ranjha. She said, “True love is like this mark that merged onto the skin, never go away.”
