12,000 Tons Of Plastic Removed From Mumbai Beach

in #india6 years ago

Volunteers come together to remove tons of waste and plastic from a beach in Mumbai.

Hundreds of volunteers have come together to remove waste from Versova Beach, a movement started by Afroz Shah, a lawyer who calls the movement "Sky Ocean Rescue."

They come together every weekend to clean up the waste that is being dumped by those living in the slums of Mumbai and if there isn't a way to improve waste collection, all this will be for nothing.

Since the movement has started it has picked up mass attention from Bollywood stars who have donated diggers and tractors to assist with getting the waste that is underneath the sand.

Granted there is much poverty in India and with very little resources, marine life will suffer more then it is now. Even children from local areas have joined the movement to better their land.

This initiative is a beautiful work in favor of our beloved land, it would be a great experience belonging to these brave volunteers.

Great job. Always make me angry when I see people throwing trash around. Is it so difficult to put garbage in the trash bin? I even have a small trash bin in the car.

God bless this people. Beautiful initiative.

please read my posts i hope do you like it

Maybe when a smal area gets cleaned up, those who donate the equipment could donate a trash barrel or two. Volunteers could make sure is stays emptied.

great work, keep it up..
