While I was away from Steemit, we (Alif) were travelling to Kashmir for a show.

The show was in the city of Srinagar. Alif has quite a few songs in Kashmiri language, hence this was home ground.
The vocalist Mohammad Muneem & I have performed quite a few times in Kashmir as a duo, but this was the first time in Kashmir with the full band and we were super excited!

We arrived a day early to check on the sound and venue. We stayed in this absolute gorgeous houseboat in Dal Lake, and the pic above is the view from the houseboat! Absolutely gorgeous!
The air was so fresh. The next morning I woke up at 6 am and sat outside the houseboat just staring at the view and drinking Kewah - a drink from Kashmir.

Early morning we head out to eat Harissa - it is a mutton paste which takes 24 hours to prepare and people in Kashmir eat it for breakfast with their traditional bread. Check out our plate of Harissa being prepared!

And ofcourse being in Kashmir, there was a lot of mutton eating! Super tasty food in the houseboat!

Coming back to our main reason of being in Kashmir - the gig. The audience was absolutely fantastic! They knew the songs and sang along each and every one of them. I absolutely love performing in Kashmir! Here is a short clip of the performance.

We were in Kashmir one more day post the show and recorded a quick acoustic performance at the banks of Dal Lake just outside the houseboat. I am still editing this video and should be done soon enough.

One more interesting place we visited was Winterfell Cafe!
Yes, you read that right. It is a Game Of Thrones themed cafe in Kashmir!
The owner was there at the show the previous night and he invited us over to check out the cafe. And there was a special invite for our drummer whose tabla version of the Game Of Thrones theme had gone viral last year at the beginning of Season 6.
