Padmanabhaswamy Temple
Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Kerala India. The richest temple in the World. Said to be host of the Hindu God Vishnu on Earth. It is one of the oldest and most ancient Temples in India and many religious texts dating back to 500 B.C make reference to the Temple, which leaves one to wonder when exactly it was constructed.
Countless antiquities and gold and other treasures have been recovered from this temple over the years, usually by order of the Indian supreme Court. The total value of these treasures and assets is said to total over $19 Billion USD. It is the richest and wealthiest religious place of worship in the World.
One family serves as the Temple Host maintaining and protecting the Temple, they are descended from the ancient royalty of Kerala.
The Temple is said to have been carved from a single piece of granite, which is quite amazing to think about when you see the huge size of the Temple and the complexity of sculptures and reliefs that adorn it.
Of particular note is that the Indian Supreme Court is once again in the process of trying to court order the opening of one of the remaining unopened vaults in the Temple- the so called Chamber B vault. While the antechamber to this vault has been opened, the main vault itself has proven extremely difficult to open. Legend states that it can only be opened by following a certain Hindu religious ritual.
Legend also states that this vault doesn't house treasure (like many think), but rather that it is the prison of a demonic entity. If released this demon will cause much misery and ill for the world. If you look at the door to Chamber B it certainly is creepy and foreboding- a relief depicting a ferocious dragon or serpent creature encompasses the Chamber door, with hundreds of human bodies depicted on the door falling from the grasps of the serpent. It's quite a horrific piece of art and resonates with the Gothic traditions of Europe to some degree.
Do you think the Supreme Court should open the chamber? What do you think lies inside? Gold? Fortune? Or something much more sinister?
It is believed that the 9th gate is cursed not must never be opened. Some say that the last door contains huge amounts of gold n jewelry, beyond our imagination.
Would it being cursed not warrant one to never open it? Lol
