Justice for the 8-year-old girl raped and murdered in Kathua(India)
This request part of the initiative of a group of women from Jammu and Kashmir whose names appear below. We call justice in the case of rape and murder case of an 8 years old girl in Hiranagar, Kathua – India.
Justice for the girl raped and murdered in Kathua
We want to express our big anguish over the unjustifiable delay in the on the atrocious violation and the murder of a minor under the age of 8 years old in the village of Rassana , in the Hiranagar district of Kathua (India).
Also, we are concerned about the excessive politicization that is occurring on an incident that is clearly related to the sexual exploitation, sexual brutality and sexual murder. We are also concerned about blatantly the speech ultranationalist that is being used to protect the guilty and counter all the campaigns in favor of justice.
Her body was found in the forests of Rassana on 17th January, a week after her disappearance. In her remains were found marks of torture and rape prior to her death. The victim of 8 belonged to a nomad tribe marginalized and oppressed who suffered an enormous vulnerability.
The sequence of events shows that there has been a deliberated attempt on the part of a section within the Government to frustrate the investigation process in the case, since the minor disappeared.
The media have pointed out the resignation by the police to file a report and begin the search to locate the minor.Even after that her body was recovered, the necessary research process, including the evidence collection and the taking of statements, it wasn’t done in the right way.
On the contrary, both the family of the victim as those who are pursuing justice we have been harassed and intimidated.
We believe that there is a deliberated attempt to silence the case.Surprinsingly, the vested interests attempting to sabotage investigations not only include a right-wing marginal group but also two major ministers.
That’s why we call on all political groups in the country for put an end to this politicization of the crime and to stop the harassment of the victim’s family. As women are extremely shocked and dismayed by the way this oppression is linked to the patriarchal mindset.
Sign this request to ask the India’s Government that guarantee a trial by the fast track so that can make justice
