Sand Dune Bashing In a Ford Endeavour in India

North Indian state of Rajasthan is home to sand dunes that are spread across a smaller part of the state. A popular location to find these dunes is near Jaisalmer which is about 2 hrs from the Pakistan border. I have gone here before and a few weeks back, experienced the same dunes but in a different vehicle. This time around, it was the 2020 Ford Endeavour.

Ford sells this as the Everest in some international markets but it is called the Endeavour here. Pricing, with taxes is about INR 40,00,000 or about USD 50,000 in current rates. This is the updated model for 2020 that gets a new 2.0 diesel motor. Everything else remains the same.

This was an official event organied for the media houses as well as current owners of the previous version. All vehicles were the top spec 4x4 units with a new 10 speed automatic gearbox

The dune experience lasted about 2 hrs. We had experts with us for guidance and thankfully no one got royally stuck. This really is a capable premium 7 seater SUV in India. Drive to work on weekdays, explore dunes on weekends :-D
