CAUT!ON is a roots/reggae production duo based in Melbourne, Australia, comprised of Arnaud Nicolas François (guitars/bass) and Morgan Anderson (vocals/lyrics/keys).
Their sound draws from a diversity of roots music influences, principally vintage reggae and acoustic roots, infused with traditional African rhythms, dub, psychedelia, rhythm & blues and a sprinkle of electronica.
The result is a heady mélange that transcends the familiar language and songwriting structures of reggae while remaining rooted in its principles.
These 2 former bandmates have reunited purposefully and prolifically, after a hiatus spent exploring individual trajectories and refining their respective talents across several projects including reggae, sega (the traditional music of Mauritius), blues/rock, soul, funk and psychedelia.
Their effortless rapport bridges already complementary, yet distinct, approaches with a shared responsibility for beatmaking and percussion, and gives birth to a new, hypnotically catchy sound.
Their debut release is an invitation to sample these wares fresh from the forge.
