Time to Declare Independence From Big Government
Put simply, the US revolted against the crown, over taxes of 1-2% of national income. Seems a paltry sum compared to the tax burdens for the modern day American.
What have we achieved with the epic amount of money sloshing around the coffers of Big Government:
The surveillance apparatus has been built so large and invasive that it records all of your communications and stores them for you. Not that anyone is actually reading and listening to you in an active fashion, but could all be used against you at a future date.(Note: Don't write or say anything provocative because that may get flagged by the computers and actually get looked into)

In the states we have a bizarre tradition where military men are invited onto the field during football and baseball games to honor the troops. This is actually a marketing ploy by the armed forces. They military actually pays the sports leagues for the soldiers to be there. A new form of recruiting.
The US has a military that spends more money then the next 10 largest military budgets combined. What has that gotten us other than a war machine that spans the globe, with over 900 outposts, overpriced aircraft that don't work and a sense of invincibility.
The money spent on the war machine accounts for about $600 Billion annually. That money is okay'd every year without Congress even batting an eye. While cities are in decay, healthcare is thru the roof and 100 million Americans are out of the workforce.

Thru the use of NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) the powers that be made it legal to propagandize the people. In times when "fake news" is all the rage, how is one to determine what is fake and what is not when the government can flat out lie to the people, legally?
This just barely scratches the surface of how far the US has come to oppressing their own people. I haven't even mentioned the TSA in the airports, fondling men, women and children, daily. Police checkpoints on highways conducting mandatory blood draws. Most every amendment has been encroached upon and the many freedoms, once enjoyed, have been given away for more safety!
It is time to declare Independence from the Big Government. The surveillance state and perpetual war are things that we pay for with our tax dollars. They exist because we allow it. Now is the time to say "No More"
Take a moment of reflection on this July 4th and ask yourself if the oppressive nature of Big Government is a good thing or a bad thing? Should steps be made to reign it in to regain our freedoms?

I agree that our government is way to large and is extremely waisteful with our money and that our tax burden is more than it should be. Our privacy and our freedoms are quickly being stripped from us in the name of security but at the same time we expect to be secure. Allot to ponder...

Education and connecting with others is key.
If we build community locally and worldwide, switching our focus from Big Brother to decentralized collaboration and solutions the game will soon be over. I am focusing on eliminating any unnecessary intermediaries, foraging all my food, use Blockchain technology etc. The beacon of truth is starting to really burst through the darkness, making the totality of the situation increasingly obvious.
It's starting to shine light on what thrives in the shadows.
