WHAT DO ANIMALS EAT?

Today I am going to talk about animals,the kinds of animals and what they eat basically....I hope you really enjoy reading it.

Different animals have different feeding habits. Based on their feeding habits,animals can be divided into three main categories herbivores,carnivores and omnivores

-HERBIVORES-

Herbivores animals or herbivores are those who eat only plants and plant products. Cow,deer,horse,giraffe and butterfly are examples of herbivores.

Some Special Characteristics Of Herbivores

• Herbivores such as cow,horse and goats have wide blunt teeth. Such teeth are suitable for pulling plants off the ground and grinding them.

• Squirrels have a pair of broad,sharp-edge teeth in each jaw called as incisors.They use these teeth to gnaw food items such as nuts.

-CARNIVORES-

Carnivores animals orcarnivores are those animals who eats only the flesh of other animals like Lion,tiger,jackal,owl,eagle,snake and spiders aresome of the example.

Some of the special characteristics of carnivores

*Carnivores such as lion and tiger have sharp pointed front teeth. They also have sharp claws and powerful jaws,which help them to tear flash.

*Carnivores such as snakes swallow their prey whole.

-OMNIVOROUS-

Omnivorous animals or omnivores are those animals who eat both plants and animals like bear,raccoon,crow and human beings are examples of omnivores.

Some special characteristics of omnivores

• Omnivores such as bear and human beings have different type of teeth that helps them to eat both plants and the flash of other animals.

• Omnivorous birds such as crow have sharp and pointed beak that helps them eat varieties of food.
