Wisdom and Immortality: Keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years. Proverbs 3:1-2

The purpose of the Book of Proverbs is not only to give us good counsels but also to introduce us to the mysteries of wisdom, and especially its blessings.
And in the Book of Proverbs, the wise King Solomon, author of the Book, gives us valuable sayings that teach us that wisdom and the law of Moses are closely associated, because with the spiritual gift of wisdom, which is a grace from the Lord, we can carry the law in our hearts and apply it with common sense; like the prophet Daniel in the trial of Susanna (Book of Daniel 13:1-64), who surpassed all human prudence, and through that inspired wisdom he was able to find the truth and thus serve the purposes of the Lord and his providence, fully complying with the law of Moses.
And one of the most important blessings of wisdom is life, or rather immortality: "When I considered these things inwardly, and pondered in my heart that in kinship with wisdom there is immortality" Wisdom 8:17.
By immortality in the old testament, especially in the Book of Wisdom where this term is frequently used, immortality is understood as longevity, because God is immortal and transmits this gift to us in a limited way on the physical plane. This gift was highly appreciated in ancient times, when life expectancy was very short, and the longevity of some kings was much needed.
With these words, the proverb teaches us that the wisdom that puts the law in our hearts is the source of the long life:
"My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity" Proverbs 3:1-2.
If we want to reach the true knowledge of God and reach that blissful immortality, we must seek wisdom as the most valuable treasure of our lives, that is the message of Solomon and his book.
