RE: History & Writing: How Ancient Civilizations Developed Their Own Writing Form.
interesting to see that writing started with symbols and people drew actual birds to refer to birds.
Since then, letters appeared and now the symbol for a bird is a combination of letters. We read the letters and then the image of a bird forms in our head, as if we see it with our eyes.
What's even more interesting is that now, for a century or so, we get to actually show a picture of a bird and other people understand what we mean. Instead of scribbling those letters, we just use a camera and communicate that way. That's what film and cinema is all about.
Does that mean that letters are going to disappear and let images do the work for us? If we look at the trend... probably.
That's why I'm wondering if I should just stick to communicating through video and imagery instead of scribbling those tiny letters with my fingers as I'm doing now.
