This Quest topic is about Dreams. Who is not fascinated by dreams? I have just started reading a new book “Dreaming Wide Awake, Lucid Dreaming, Shamanic Healing, and Psychedelics” by David Jay Brown. So, I think there is no better time then now for our topic to be Dreams! Again the judges are open to anything involving the topic of Dreams! Share a crazy dream; interrupt a meaning of a dream, dream art, dream poetry, etc. The topic of Dreams cannot have any boundaries! Good Luck!

My Weirdest Dreams.

I have quite a few weird dreams. So, I wanna list them off from being a kid to now. The first dream being a nightmare, funny enough.

Tiki Dream

So, have you seen the Scooby Doo movie where they are on Hawaii, and there are the robots dressed like Tiki monsters?

SourceLike this, but I had this dream when I was in like the 2nd grade.
So, I was getting chased about a forest maze by a big bigger Tiki monster. I was hiding under a table when it struck me that this is absurd and I must be dreaming. So, this was before I heard that if you die in a dream, it kills you for real. I wanted the dream to end, so I got up from under the table, looked straight at the monster and told it to come at me! It drove a spear in me, and I woke up.

Cheesecake Dream

Next weird dream I have had was when I was in middle school. At that time, I was still going to church, and there was this girl that was going to make me a cheesecake with fresh berries in it. I love berries, like really love them. So, I wanted this cheesecake terribly.

I was also playing Half-Life at the time. So, I work up in a cornfield behind my house. The sky is red and brown hues. There was a floating robot eye going around patrolling the area. So, I booked it to get in my house, but there was an 8-foot fence to climb. I got over it, and I find out the world is experiencing a kind of apocalypse. Robots took over or something some survivors have made it out to rural areas to hide. They were asking if I would join them, I told them that I would.

Being hungry, I went to the fridge to get some food and there it was the cheesecake. It looked splendid...

It then hit me, I am dreaming. All reality shattered around me like glass. The shards started to fall, and I was standing there in a white void. Before I could start to take control of the dream, I woke up.

Lucid Dreams

I then started to write down dreams in an attempt to remember them and thus realize when I am dreaming. I also would spend a moment each hour to ask myself, 'is this real?' Quite honestly, this worked I can't remember all of the dreams off hand, but I had a few in a row. So, I will list them real quick cause they were short.

• It was December, and I wanted snow for Christmas. So I had a dream that there were about 2 feet of snow in the house but there was none outside.
• Had a dream where something terrible happened, and I was told it was my fault, but I was indifferent to it. (kind disturbing)
• I was Spiderman fighting some goons in a warehouse. (That was fun!)
• I had another dream that I was Spiderman fighting Venom in a desert. (Not as fun) You can't swing too well off cacti, so I dreamt there were some handy steel beams to wrap around him.

The culmination of these dreams

After recording my dreams for a month. I had a dream, where I was sleeping, in a dream, on a game show, in a dream. It was pretty cool because I realized I was dreaming but I was cool with how the dream was going, so I just changed the dream, so I knew all the answers and won the game show. Came out of that dream, told the person in the next dream about the game show dream, woke up from that dream, thought I woke up but then I really woke up.

If that was confusing to you, it is because it is, dreams are weird man.... Unfortunately, I stopped trying to lucid dream after this and haven't had control like that again since then.

Dreams in Korean

So, preparing to come to Korea was very stressful especially preparing to learn Korean and hoping that I know enough to get by in life. I then had this dream where I met one of the sons from my first host family I lived with (haven't seen this kid in years). It was right before I was going to get on the plane to go to Korea, and he started talking to me in Korean, which was super weird, so he told me that he just got back from there and that I shouldn't worry, I will do well if I keep trying. That was the most reassuring dream I have ever had in my life.

Dreams when I first got to Korea

When I got to Korea, I had a bunch of weird dreams, about life back home, parents, restaurant work. (Don't get me started on the number of times I have had dreams about jobs I didn't like) But the weirdest one ever was this dream. I was in a dark forest (it was in black and white too), with no idea where I was...

I hear what sounds like an owl almost going, "who.....who...who...are you? Who...are..you? Who....w...who are you?" I started getting to my feet when I notice a trap door on the floor and climb in. It was an air duct??? For some reason?? I start climbing through that, all the while that owl voice in going, sounding more like a whisper, it gets louder, it gets softer, it is just varying. No way to tell where it was coming from or what was making it. I kept crawling through the ducts, hearing, "Who are you?....who....who..who are you? Who....are you?" I start asking myself who I am until I reached a deep end with a big fan and woke up.
No idea what that meant for sure. Like what kind of person do I want to be, why did I come here? The world may never know.

Honorable Funny Mention

I was sleeping with my gf at the time, and I had a king sized bed, but you know where I was sleeping right? Right on edge with her right behind me. My dream was this; we were sitting on the edge of this tall building holding hands just being cute af. Then, she decided it would be funny to push me off, in real life I had fallen off the bed but caught myself. She thought it was funny; I think that was foreshadowing of coming events. lol 😂
