Major milestone for iExec, Blender rendering is now possible via the decentralized cloud

in #iexec6 years ago (edited)

The video below details step by step how iExec can now do decentralized 3d rendering:

This is a huge huge milestone. If iExec can do 3d rendering it is only a matter of weeks before we see some much more interesting decentralized apps. They have achieved recently the ability to run docker via iExec as well which means developers will have much more freedom with regard to their dApps. It appears iExec may be ahead of schedule because V.2 is scheduled for May if my memory serves me correctly. Additionally they made a recent hire Eric Rodriguez who is a GPU and scientific computing expert. This could give us hints as to where development is headed into the future.

So May 2018 should be the biggest month for iExec because that is when the computation resource market place will launch. Of course Enigma offers computation as well but these are apples vs oranges because Enigma is privacy focused while iExec is not. For more abou iExec check out the main website and also check out the developer letter.
